Once upon a time, a friend of mine asked me: “What are the first three words that come to your mind when you think about dogs’ characteristics?”
I replied, “Loyal, friendly, sociable.”
She then asked me: “Then what are the three first words that come to your mind when you think about cats?”
“Free, independent, selfish,” I said.
“There,” my friend said sagely with a smile, “those words you’ve just mentioned, they are the words that also describe your own characteristics.”
“…Wow,” I thought, somewhat bemused. ‘Loyal, friendly, sociable’… yeah, perhaps. But the cats’ characteristics – ‘free, independent and selfish’ – were dead-set spot on! (Especially the ‘selfish’ bit… LOL!)
Then, when you meet someone, these questions could be a good way to suss out what he/she might really be like. And run like hell if they are an ‘aggressive’ dog or a ‘scheming’ cat!
